Job Type Full-time, Part-timeDescriptionJOB TITLE: Administrative Assistant - EnglishMandarin Bilingual requiredDEPARTMENT: PS 503506- School-Based ProgramExemption: Non-ExemptPURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To provide general administrative support for the program through both translating and general office dutiesCenter for Family Life is a neighborhood-based family and social services organization with deep roots in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. The work of Center for Family Life is grounded in the daily, lived experience of the Sunset Park community and guided by a vision of neighborhood families and social institutions evolving over time and contributing to each other's ongoing development.I. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited toInterprettranslate messages for children and parentsGeneral office workAssist with daily administrative tasks.Overseeing daily sign-in, maintaining attendance rosters, and keeping accurate daily countsTracking activities, answering phones, conducting attendance phone calls weeklyMaintaining online attendance databases, running regular data reports to check for accuracy, and parent outreachManaging the completion and tracking of the expense reportProgram liaison for Cafeteria staff for school meal reportsMaintain and oversee staff personnel filesOccasionally assist with supervising children in a community based after school and summer day camp programII. QUALIFICATIONSEducationDegree minimum requirement: High School Diploma or Equivalency Diploma (BA, a plus)Experience: 2 years of after-school programoffice experience or currently in collegeGood verbal and writing skillsHighly organized and able to manage time efficientlyDetail-oriented, dependable, and pro-activeExcellent organizational skillsStrong Youth Development backgroundMust love children, working in groups, and being part of a communityFlexibility and the ability to work well as a member of a teamInterested in managing and creating positive experiences for groups of youth, including participants with special needs and challenging behaviorsBilingual: EnglishMandarin, required (Cantonese, a plus)III. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITYThe Administrative Assistant focuses on providing general program support to administrative tasks.Other information: The position is regular part-time, with a minimum requirement of 30 hours per week.
