The Word Processing Operator is responsible for creating, formatting, and revising documents, as well as retrieving text and data from electronic files. This role also provides user support for MS Office applications.ResponsibilitiesCreate and revise legal documents to Firm's specifications using the Firm's latest software and version of MS OfficeProduce financial statements, flow charts, presentations, letters and other documents, marking for cross references, Table of Contents, Table of Authorities, defined terms, and indexingScan and format documents; convert documents tofrom different software packages, produce mail merge documents, and fillable-pdf forms, and prepare Change Pro comparisonsTroubleshoot document issues; recoverrestore corrupted document filesProofread work for quality and correct formattingAnswer incoming calls to Word Support and assist users with various software applications; provide document support utilizing remote access; input iSupport calls into software ticketing systemCoordinate and communicate with Supervisor-Word Processing regarding workflow and other issuesMaintain an accurate diary log of all work performedProvide front desk coverage during the absence of Supervisor when necessaryWork overtime or flexible schedule as required to meet deadlinesPerform other duties as assignedRequired SkillsProficiency in MS Office Suite; intermediate level knowledge of PowerPoint, ExcelKnowledge of software specific to the legal industry, i.e. Worksite, Payne Numbering SchemeBasic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, divisionStrong attention to detailStrong analytical and problem solving skillsStrong customer service skillsAbility to use discretion with sensitive and confidential informationAbility to effectively prioritize and plan work activities and meet deadlines in high pressure environmentPreferred SkillsExperience in a large law firm preferredKnowledge of Adobe products and EDGAR experience preferredRequired Experience2 to 4 years of relevant experience in a center-based environment required; Ability to effectively present information verbally and in writingRequired EducationHigh School diploma or GED equivalent requiredPreferred EducationTechnical school certificationShift: 12 PM - 8 PMSalary InformationNY Only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000 at the time of posting.The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives andor from which they will be performing the job.
