Senior Stream Restoration Designer

What You'll DoLead and manage all phases of dam removal and stream restoration projects, from initial assessment and planning through permitting, design, construction and post-removal monitoringApply advanced knowledge of stream and restoration techniques to design and implement projects which restore natural hydrology, improve water quality and enhance habitat connectivityEnsure all projects comply with federal, state and local environmental regulationsProvide technical guidance and oversight on sediment transport, geomorphic assessments, and ecological monitoring related to dam removal and stream restorationThis position requires overseeing the work of others and management of small and complex projects of various typesEnvironmental Senior Project Managers prepare project proposals and budgets (including complex proposals in response to publicly solicited requests for proposals), lead business development initiatives within their operating group(s), serve as a technical resource to junior staff in their area(s) of expertise, review technical deliverables, invoices, and field reports prepared by junior staffEnvironmental Senior Project Managers may be required to supervise junior staff directly and if so, will be responsible for maintaining a sufficient workload for all junior staff under their supervisionThis position requires the ability to independently solve day-to-day problems on projects with limited direction or involvement from executive staff. Environmental Senior Project Managers are responsible for daily on-going client interaction, maintaining a client database, and actively participating in business development and client marketing eventsPhysical Demands - Work may include climbing: ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, etc. You will be required to have close visual acuity. Activities occur inside and outside, and you may be required to wear a respirator and other personal protective equipment. What We're Looking ForBS in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology or related field required10+ years of related experiencee in dam removal and stream restoration project experience, including progressive responsibility and proven track record of project and people management skillsIn-depth understanding of environmental regulations and permitting processes related to dam removal and stream restorationProfessional Engineer (PE), or Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner (CERP) license would go a long wayThe expected pay range for this role and location is $79,000-$117,000year. The final agreed-upon compensation will be determined based on specific location and other individual qualifications.
