Insight Global is seeking a Transmission Relay Engineer for a major utility client in Spring Valley, NY. This role offers diverse project management experiences and growth opportunities.Daily Responsibilities1. Design and Application- Work on designing and applying utility-grade relay systems for transmission and substation systems.- Effectively use the Aspen One Line or CAPE system-modeling programs for fault current simulations and relay coordination.2. Technical Tasks- Perform relay setting calculations for electromechanical, solid state, and microprocessor type relays.- Familiarize with vendor software, settingslogic files, and communication-assisted protection systems.- Prepare design sketches and perform system modeling.- Support field personnel and prepare outage reports.4. Required Skills & Experience- BSEE or equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering.- 3-5 years of experience in substation engineering or related operations.- Proficiency in designing and applying utility-grade relay systems.- Effective use of Aspen One Line or CAPE system-modeling programs for fault current simulations and relay coordination.- Experience with relay setting calculations for electromechanical, solid state, and microprocessor type relays.- Familiarity with vendor software, settingslogic files, and communication-assisted protection systems.- Ability to manage multiple projects, including budgeting and scheduling, with a focus on projects under $2 million.- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills, with a customer-centric approach.
