Job DescriptionA financial services company in NYC is looking for two Accounting Financial Reporting consultants for a 3 month contract assignment.Responsibilities -Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP). The Finance Department is responsible foradhering to and complying with fiscal and regulatory norms.The Finance Department ascertains that certain procedures are followed by other departments toensure that all transactions are properly recorded, monitored and verified. In order to perform thisfunction, the Finance Department reviews reports produced by the Broadridge system (Trade SupportSystem) and InteliClear (IC) trade processing systems and the General Ledger and analyzes the activityof the accounts on a regular basis.Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting - Follow month end closing procedures to prepare monthly financial statements.- Maintain revenueexpenses accrue schedules and journal entries required by the dailyoperation.- Prepare monthly financial forecast; participate in GL closing procedure and preparation ofmonthly management reporting.- Follow up with leasing accounting, tax subjects with the support from consultant andresponsible for journal entries.- Plan company's annual Budget and budget allocation; prepare budget performance reportson a monthly basis, and analyze variances between approved budgets and actual expenditures- Prepare Board Meeting materials related to financial highlights and KPI analysis- Assist external audit in reviewing semi-annual and year-end audit, mainly resolve the auditissues related to Accounting Department.Requirements - Bachelor or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business AdministrationExperience may have been gained concurrently and must include:•5 years' experience with broker dealer activities,•5 years' experience with GAAP Accounting Standards•US CPA certificateWithin the defined area of responsibility ensure the following as it pertains to the positionand where applicable:Risk Management:•Perform due diligence in daily job to monitor risks and to prevent risk events fromoccurring. Manage daily responsibilities within risk governance framework, andpolicies and procedures of the firm. Take responsibility for identifying and reportingany risks.•Possesses the appropriate risk management and internal control capabilitiesskill setfor the position.
