Company DescriptionAHRC New York City is a family governed organization committed to finding ways for people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities to build full lives as defined by each person and supported by dedicated families, staff, and community partners.Job DescriptionAHRC NYC is seeking a Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) for their Critical Time Intervention Program (CTI).SALARY: $85,000 per year plus a comprehensive Benefit Package....see Benefit information below.SUMMARYThe Behavioral Intervention Specialist, CTI Services provides crisis intervention services that may include evaluations, psychological assessments, and delivery of therapy and or behavioral supports.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESProvides crisis intervention services that may include completion of evaluations, psychological assessments, delivery of therapeutic support and or behavior supports.Conducting ongoing assessments of people's social needs, psychiatric status, and vocational and housing conditions at time of crisisDrafting of behavior or treatment support plans for implementation during crisis and monitoring of person's ongoing crisis recovery.Conducting supportive clinical services, either in-person, in-home or other community settings, by telephone or by teletherapy or by combination of methods, as needed and appropriate.Follows a trauma informed care approach when providing support and interventionCoordinating psychological care and behavioral programs with relevant stakeholders in people's circles of support.Attending CTI and other interdisciplinary team meetings, as appropriate andor required.Accurate and timely maintenance of service records for people supported.Performs all duties necessary to ensure compliance with relevant regulations governing service provision, including record keeping, as well as adherence to CTI model of treatment.Performs other related tasks as needed or required.QualificationsMaster's degree in a clinical or treatment field of psychology, Required. Documented training in assessment techniques and behavioral support highly desirable.At least 5 years of experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities and psychiatric diagnoses preferred.Strong, effective verbal and written communication skills.Proven capacity to work productively in highly collaborative settings and to coordinate needs of multiple stakeholders.Ability to make decisions independently and to react to unanticipated events in a prudent and timely manner.Flexibility to operate in a rapidly-changing work environment, with ability to adapt and be sensitive to a broad spectrum of locales and mitted and collegial team worker.Must be willing to travel within five boroughs of New York City.
