MA/PCA - Doctor's Pavilion - Cardiology

A healthcare network in New York City is currently seeking a certified Medical Assistant (MA) to join their growing Doctors Pavilion team in Brooklyn. In this role, the Medical Assistant (MA) will be responsible for providing clinical and clerical support to Physicians, staff, and patients. About the Opportunity: Start Date: ASAP Schedule: Monday to Friday Hours: 9am to 5pm (35 hours per week; 1 hour paid lunch) Responsibilities: The Medical Assistant (MA) will: Monitor patient arrival and coordinate patient flow with Physician and other care team members to ensure a positive patient experience Escort patient to exam room, assist patient in preparing for exam and advise the Physician when patient is ready Assist during examinations, if required or requested Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests and documents in EMR Assist patients with referrals, appointments as necessary Ensure that facilities and equipment are in optimal and proper working condition Keep adequate supplies available by inventorying stock on a regular basis Perform typing assignments for the office (e.g. labels, letters, forms and mailings to patients) Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records Perform electrocardiograms and phlebotomy in accordance with provider orders Perform other related duties, as required Qualifications: High School Diploma GED Medical Assistant (MA) certification EKG and Phlebotomy training CPR certification Computer savvy and Data Entry skills Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills Patient oriented Great interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Strong attention to detail Highly organized Desired Skills: 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant (MA) in a Hospital andor Doctor's Office setting Associate's andor Bachelor's Degree EKG and Phlebotomy certification
