WATG is hiring a Project Architect for our office in New York. ROLE The Project Architect is responsible for project deliverables, the technical content of documents, the implementation of comments, QA reviews, and the coordination of disciplines, including consultants. A licensed architect who directs the work assignments of a diverse project team as well as coordinates with clients, consultants, and contractors. The Project Architect is accountable to the Project Manager and Project Designer for project performance and team communications.RESPONSIBILITIESEnsures the overall design intent of the project established by the Project Designer is incorporated into the detailed project documentationMonitors the design process from the conceptual phase through construction administration, and validates that the design idea is properly executedIs responsible for the technical resolution and coordination of a defined portion of one or more projects, including the coordination of drawings and specificationsReviews the accuracy and completeness of reports, plans, estimates, and calculationsCoordinates and tracks shared electronic documentation and files with the project team, clients, and consultantsWrites reports and documentation to consultants and vendors to issue changes and track resolutionsPrepares minutes of consultant coordination meetingsManages project documents and identifies the sheets planned for each stage of the work, including defining how data will be organized into files and which elements will be incorporated in a Building Information Model (BIM)Fosters and maintains a collaborative professional working relationship with the project teamCoordinates communication with other service lines, vendors, and contractors to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirements, providing support when necessaryManages construction detail documentation for quality assurance, quality control, and best practice standardsSupervises the preparation of technical drawings by other team membersDirects the work of team members, providing mentoring and development opportunitiesFosters a green workplace through sustainable work practices, and incorporates sustainable design solutions into projectsQUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in ArchitectureProfessional license requiredEnvironmental accreditation preferred10+ years of experience designing small to mid-size architectural projects, including urban and resort hotels, mixed-use and renovation projectsProficiency in technical skills, including AutoCAD, and 3D modeling software, like Rhino and SketchUpStrong proficiency in Revit requiredSketching skills requiredKnowledge of architectural building systems, integrated design, trends, construction methodology, QAQC process, CA process, and building codesExperienced in client management and negotiationsEffective project management skills, keeping within established deadlines and budgetsWorks successfully in a team environmentExcellent written and verbal communication and presentation skillsTravel may ne required*Please include a copy of your resume and portfolio to be considered for this position.WATG is an Equal Opportunity Employer
