About the job Mechanical Energy Engineer Qualifications: To succeed in this role you must have an educational foundation related to mechanical engineering and an interest in sustainable design, central utility plants, and energy distribution systemsB.S. (or higher) in Mechanical EngineeringAbility to foster a creative engineering environmentStrong communication skills, (both written and verbal)Ability to work across a wide range of areas within the mechanical engineering disciplineAbility and desire to obtain professional registration (EIT and PE)Strong computer skills in the Microsoft Office suite of programsResponsibilitiesAs our new mechanical engineer, you will be part of a dynamic and engaging group of experienced engineers supporting clients and projects in multiple markets with a continuous goal of client satisfaction and professional growthPerforming design work in various areas of the mechanical discipline; range from industrial piping, to HVAC systems, plumbing, central utility plants, compressed air systems, chilled water systems, steam systems, district heating, and combined heat and power systemsCoordinating with other engineering disciplines to produce final construction drawings and details associated with mechanical engineering projectsCreating design drawings utilizing 3D design software (Revit andor CADWorx)Review the schedule and cost of the projects under their supervisionMaintain the cost of projects under direct supervision within the stated budgetsPrepare work necessary to complete contract documents (plans & specifications) for all work on which bids are to be takenCooperate and communicate with other engineers, designers, and drafters assigned to the various phases of the projectPerform detailed checking of work performed under his or her direct supervisionUndertake research, investigation, writing and editing of reportsPerform construction administrative tasksTravel required in the New York State area
