Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:Job Summary:The Warehouse Associate will move product by hand to and from a staging area to build new orders or tear down orders returned to the plant, and to load and unload trucks. Other duties may be assigned.Essential Job Functions:This position is considered safety sensitive due to the required operation of forklifts, pallet jacks and other heavy machinery. Safe operation requires a constant state of alertness and awareness of the surroundings at all timesUse appropriate material handling equipment to move product and materials from/to designated locations to support bulk activities in an efficient and safe mannerBuild pallets/orders as needed/directed to support successful order fulfillmentReview customer orders to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributedIdentify product by description and quantity; Remove product from area and transport to staging area using a pallet jack or forkliftWork accurately to control warehouse inventory to keep shrink at acceptable levelEfficiently load/unload route trucks, bulk rigs and transports with a forkliftAssist the daily housekeeping and maintenance of warehouse groundsSort and place materials or items on racks according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, or product codeAdheres to all policies and procedures relating to product age and qualityUnderstand the safety culture and strives for 100% compliance concerning safety observationsPerform various duties as assignedRequirements:Ability to read, speak, write and understand English to perform basic math skills (Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)Proven history or ability to demonstrate safe/ responsible behavior, and a positive performance recordAbility to work independently in a fast paced environment while meeting productivity and quality expectationsMust be self-motivated, respectful, positive, team oriented and maintain a high degree of integrityWillingness to operate common warehouse equipment (forklifts and pallet jack)Must be willing and able to repetitively lift up to 55 pounds, push, pull, stand, squat, bend and reachMust maintain a neat uniform and professional appearanceAbility to withstand exposure to limited climate control within the facility
