Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join our team in Whitehall, Michigan. In this long-term contract position, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations, with a focus on inventory reporting, journal entries, and month-end close processes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in finance or accounting to contribute to a dynamic and collaborative environment.Responsibilities: Manage the month-end close process, ensuring journal entries are accurately and promptly completed. Prepare and maintain comprehensive records for inventory elements, including daily tracking and monthly reconciliations. Oversee metal receipt functions, ensuring accurate reporting, billing, and necessary cost variance adjustments. Maintain and update worksheets for monthly casting and melting activities, reviewing variances and obtaining approvals prior to posting. Conduct detailed reviews of general ledger activity, identifying inaccuracies and preparing adjusting journal entries as needed. Assist in the development of annual budgets by analyzing line-item expense categories. Perform in-depth expenditure analysis and compile data for special projects or decision-making purposes. Reconcile data between Oracle and AS400 systems, preparing adjustments to ensure ledger accuracy. Support internal controls by maintaining and documenting physical inventory forms and adhering to self-assessment procedures. Collaborate with team members to provide financial insights and recommendations that align with business objectives. Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting. Minimum of 2 years of experience in finance or accounting, including journal entry preparation and reconciliation. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Oracle systems. Strong understanding of inventory reporting and cost accounting principles. Excellent organizational skills with a systematic approach to performing tasks accurately and efficiently. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial analyses to support decision-making. Experience in a manufacturing or operating environment is preferred.
