Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Title: General Production WorkerJob DescriptionJoin our dynamic team as a General Production Worker, where you will have the opportunity to work in either the Steel Shop or the Wood Shop based on current needs. This role offers the chance to be part of a leading Midwest manufacturer of cold-formed steel trusses, wall panels, and wood components.ResponsibilitiesAssemble trusses by pre-cutting and labeling them, and work from a print to construct the right truss based on work orders.Set up jigs and tack plates using a hammer and staple gun, and accurately read a tape measure to 1/16th of an inch.Crawl on knees to tack boards as needed, using knee pads when necessary.Stand trusses upright in the yard upon completion, possibly working in coordination with a forklift operator.Work with the saw operator to catch and stack wood onto pallets after cutting, ensuring proper labeling.Read a carpenter square to check angles, with the physical ability to handle long boards.Essential SkillsAbility to lift 50lbs.Proficiency in reading a tape measure.6+ months of previous experience in labor, manufacturing, production, or construction.Achieve at least 80% on Basic Industrial Math and Basic Ruler Reading tests.Additional Skills & QualificationsFamiliarity with production, general labor, manufacturing, and construction tools and processes.Experience operating forklifts.Why Work Here?Enjoy the benefit of working just 35 hours a week while being paid for 40, thanks to our daily bonus hour for the night shift.
