Job DescriptionJob DescriptionFull-time Wastewater Operations SupervisorAbout the PositionWe are seeking an experienced and dedicated Wastewater Operations Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in water treatment, waste water systems, and leadership skills. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to oversee and manage the daily operations of our wastewater treatment facility, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and maintaining the highest standards of water quality.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee and manage the daily operations of the wastewater treatment plant, including all treatment processes, equipment maintenance, and facility upkeep.Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all aspects of wastewater treatment operations.Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to wastewater treatment and discharge.Monitor and analyze water quality data, preparing detailed reports for regulatory agencies and management.Supervise, train, and evaluate a team of wastewater treatment operators and technicians.Coordinate with other departments and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and address any issues or concerns.Manage the budget for the wastewater treatment facility, including forecasting expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all equipment and systems within the facility.Respond to emergencies and troubleshoot complex operational issues as they arise.Stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in wastewater treatment.Participate in long-term planning for facility upgrades and expansions.Ensure proper safety protocols are followed and maintain a safe working environment for all employees.QualificationsRequired:Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.5-10 years of experience in wastewater treatment operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.Proficiency in water treatment processes, including biological treatment, chemical treatment, and solids handling.Strong understanding of wastewater systems, including collection systems, pumping stations, and treatment plant operations.Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to manage and motivate a team.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SCADA systems.Valid driver's license and ability to be on-call for emergencies.Current certification as a Wastewater Treatment Operator (level dependent on state requirements).Preferred:Master's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field.Professional Engineer (PE) license.Experience with advanced treatment technologies such as membrane bioreactors (MBR) or ultraviolet (UV) disinfection.Familiarity with laboratory procedures and water quality testing methods.Knowledge of asset management and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).Key CompetenciesTechnical Expertise: Demonstrates a deep understanding of wastewater treatment processes, equipment, and regulations.Leadership:
