Job Summary:The primary responsibility of the Sandblaster is to prepare surfaces by using abrasive blasting equipment to remove rust, paint, and other materials in preparation for coating or finishing. The Sandblaster ensures surfaces meet quality and specification standards while adhering to safety guidelines and procedures. Additionally, the Sandblaster should serve as a contributing team member and individual contributor to the overall success of the team.Typical Duties and Responsibilities:Work SECOND shift hoursPrepare, prime, and paint pumps, parts, and various equipmentMask and cover surfaces not to be paintedOperate and maintain paint spraying equipmentExamine finished parts or equipment to ensure proper surface prep and finished qualityOrder paint and keep equipment in a safe, clean conditionSandblast equipment in preparation for paintingQualifications:Previous experience in industrial painting or production paintingA Good Learning OrientationEffective Time ManagementAbility to lift heavy objects (75lbs) and perform strenuous physical laborAbility to wear a respiratorAbility to stand for long periods of time Disclaimer: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
