Job DescriptionJob DescriptionCo-op | Methuen Construction Company, Inc.Methuen Construction is seeking a Co-op to provide essential support to the Construction Operations department. This position reports to the Project Manager and is not responsible for the oversight of other teammates. This is a full-time, hourly non-exempt intern/co-op position.Your RoleProvide technical assistance to the project team including interpreting contract drawings and submittalsProvide assistance to Project Managers, Foreman, and Superintendents to facilitate construction project planProvide assistance in performing solicitation and evaluation of prices from vendors and distributorsEnsure proper oversight and retention of documents relevant to projectAssist with Logging PO's, subcontracts, insurance certificates and correspondenceAssist with tracking fabrication and delivery of product and equipmentAssist with all project Safety, Quality, and Compliance programs and processesAssist with performing inspection of construction site progress and qualityKeep accurate notes, records, sketches, daily reports, and field books to describe and verify the planned work as well as the completed work that they will incorporate in the project's record documentsPerform other duties to support construction operations as neededYour Education and ExperienceCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplineSkill in the use of Windows based personal computers in application of Microsoft Office ProfessionalPrevious experience performing work with water, waste/water and heavy industrial process systems is preferred for this position, but not requiredPersonal commitment to team environment, safety, customer satisfaction and quality controlWhat You Bring to the TeamAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingStrong commitment to safety, the team environment, customer satisfaction and quality controlPrompt and accurate judgment with the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems as they ariseExcellent time management skillsProven ability to excel in a fast-paced environmentWork Environment/Physical DemandsAbility to lift 25 poundsAbility to stand for extended periods of time, and safely maneuver around the nearby presence of various construction equipment and vehicles.Ability to perform duties as needed in various conditions of adverse weather on an active construction siteReasonable AccommodationsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Why Youll Love Working HereMethuen Construction is widely recognized as the most successful, self-performing general contractor in the industry.
