Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Title: General LaborJob DescriptionWe manufacture various sizes and colors of brick and are looking for dedicated individuals to join our team. As a General Laborer, you will be involved in blending, repacking, cutting, waxing, and hand setting of bricks. Your role will also include operating equipment to place banding material around the strap of bricks and applying cross straps on cubes. This position requires physical labor, including lifting and handling heavy materials.ResponsibilitiesBlend, repack, cut, wax, and hand set bricks.Operate equipment to place banding material around brick straps and apply cross straps on cubes.Handle materials such as rolls of banding (40 pounds) and edge protectors (25 pounds), lifting them to a height of four feet.Cut the face off bricks for display panels and manage the brick cutting process, including feeding bricks to the saw and monitoring the washing and drying process.Inspect bricks and grade them according to company specifications, considering factors like chips, cracks, size, distortion, and color range.Maintain good equilibrium and body positioning to avoid injury due to the repetitive nature of the job.Essential Skills3 months of previous work experience in a general labor role that required standing for long periods.Ability to perform physical work, including lifting up to 50 pounds.Basic understanding of machine operation and maintenance.Additional Skills & QualificationsPotentially some machine operation experience.Forklift operation training is a plus.Why Work Here?We offer annual performance incentives, paid time off, and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance. Our team consists of 100-130 people, including office and production employees. The dress code requires closed-toed leather work boots, jeans, and a t-shirt, with no offensive language on clothing. A light jacket is recommended. This is a second shift position with hours from 3 PM to 11 PM, six days on and two days off on a rotating schedule, including holidays. The general labor role typically follows a Monday to Friday schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with some overtime work on weekends.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of ADEL, Iowa.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.95 - $24.44/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
