Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Title: Maintenance TechnicianJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with maintenance, tool room, quality control, and other production team members, including Automation Specialists, Technicians, Engineers, Vendors, and Suppliers. This role involves repairing highly complex electrical and mechanical equipment, troubleshooting, and performing preventive maintenance tasks.ResponsibilitiesWork autonomously while repairing highly complex electrical and mechanical equipment.Describe symptoms to vendors over the phone and carry out suggested repairs.Collaborate with Supervisors and Leads to get faulted equipment back online.Connect and establish communication with PLC processors and diagnose machine problems.Perform operations necessary to repair machinery using skills such as welding, soldering, and drilling.Replace bearings, shafts, gears, pins, and keys.Operate all equipment in the machine shop.Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate test equipment.Fabricate and install steel tables, brackets, extensions, oilers, safety gates, etc.Determine if repairs can be made or if service technicians must be called in.Analyze and diagnose hydraulic and pneumatic systems using schematics.Plan, layout, and install circuits and distribution equipment in accordance with codes.Fabricate, install, and repair electrical systems on production equipment.Locate trouble causing malfunction; dismantle machine; replace broken or worn parts.Repair, maintain, and assemble safety guards, motors, relays, starters, lighting, and other attachments.Move heavy equipment and machinery within the plant area.Take responsibility for safety and housekeeping; repair or report safety discrepancies immediately.Perform required electrical and mechanical preventive maintenance on equipment.Respond to discrepancies and initiate engineering contacts for problem resolution.Contact vendors for technical assistance and parts availability; prepare documentation.Rebuild hydraulic valves, cylinders, and pumps.Run appropriate plumbing and electrical service to new or relocated equipment.Essential SkillsExcellent electrical and mechanical aptitude.Strong troubleshooting skills and outstanding analytical ability.Knowledge of all types of welding, brazing, and soldering.Ability to read hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical blueprints.High level of initiative.Ability to see the job through to completion without relying on others.Proper use of all equipment and tools.Ability to troubleshoot probable cause of machine malfunctions.Ability to read and write English and do simple arithmetic.Ability to perform safely at all times.Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with PLC troubleshooting.Knowledge of preventive maintenance techniques.Experience in an industrial setting.Why Work Here?Join our team and benefit from our supportive work environment and opportunities for growth. The environment is non-climate controlled, loud, and can be dirty. We prioritize safety and housekeeping to ensure a secure working space.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Denison, Texas.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
