Job DescriptionJob DescriptionALBERT HOTEL is hiring for a EVENTS CAPTAINAlbert Hotel is located on a three-acre site from 242 to 248 East Main Street, Fredericksburg, TX. The hotel itself is tucked away from Main Street located behind the original historic buildings, creating a peaceful escape offering quiet sophistication just off bustling Main Street. The hotel has 110 guest rooms, including bunkrooms, suites, and a private house, and each room will have tailored amenities, custom-designed furniture, and little extras to make guests feel at home. The property has three restaurants, one bar, a private dining room, and will offer in-room dining. Guests can enjoy the inviting outdoor lagoon-style pool, a fitness center, and a 2,000 sq. foot full-service spa. The property is ideal for hosting events, with a 3,600 square-foot event space and a 1,200 square-foot mezzanine deck and event lawn. What you'll do: Collaborate with the Events Manager and event organizers to understand event details including guest count, menu details, special requests, and other relevant informationDelegate tasks and responsibilities to event staff, ensuring everyone understands their roles during the EventOversee the setup of banquet spaces, ensuring tables, chairs, linens, and decor are arranged according to event requirements; ensure the cleanliness and proper functioning of the banquet areasGreet and welcome guests upon arrival, assist with seating arrangements, and address any immediate concerns of special requestsEnsure all service standards are met or exceeded during the event; monitor the timing of courses, beverage service, and other elements to ensure a seamless guest experienceHandle guest feedback or issues that may arise during the event, providing solutions promptly and maintaining a high level of professionalismOversee beverage service and ensure responsible alcohol service practices and laws are followed; monitor inventory and coordinate with the team to restock as neededMaintain event flow and adherence to schedule, coordinating with culinary teams to ensure timely delivery of coursesAdhere to all safety and health regulations during events, ensuring guest and team member well-being; properly handle and store banquet equipmentAssist with event breakdown, cleaning, and storage of equipment and supplies; provide Event Manager with feedback to improve future eventsBe available to fill in as needed to ensure the efficient operation of the event as directed by the Event Manager and attend relevant meetings as directedWho you are:6+ months of related experience in the hospitality or service industry preferredState-issued food handling + beverage certifications as requiredAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to speak effectively after guests and groups of co-workers.Ability to navigate and operate computer and Point of Sale (POS) systems.Excellent organizational and leadership skills.Sharp attention to detail to ensure all event elements are executed seamlessly.Ability to work under pressure and handle stressful situations with composure.BENEFITSWe are proud to offer competitive wages and the following benefits for full-time employees:Up to 3 weeks paid time off annually50% off discount at most New Waterloo restaurantsHealth, vision + dental benefits401K matchingPaid holidaysVolunteer payTuition reimbursementReferral bonusesDiscounts at our shops, hotels local partnerships
