Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Title: Tool and Die MachinistJob DescriptionWe are looking for a skilled Tool and Die Machinist to join our team. You will study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. You will also measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on materials or workpieces as guides for subsequent machining.ResponsibilitiesCalculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls or control media as required.Install machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and test operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.Set up, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.Essential Skills2 to 3 years of experience as a Tool & Die Maker.5 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to read blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings.Expertise in operating all machine shop equipment including CNC machines, lathes, grinders, and shapers.Must have the required hand tools to perform the job such as micrometer, caliper, etc.Additional Skills & QualificationsStrong mechanical aptitude.Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing machinery.Experience with CNC programming and tooling.Why Work Here?We offer comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance. The plant manufactures military-grade solar flares.
