Job DescriptionJob DescriptionConcrete Worker/FinisherPay Grade: 917Location: ReservoirsVacancy AnnouncementNature Of The WorkSafety Sensitive Position WC 7520Brief DescriptionThe purpose of this position is to perform concrete work and assist the welders and abrasive blasters as part of a team in completing work duties and perform construction, repairs, and general maintenance on the Brazos River Authority (BRA) dams. This is accomplished by pouring and finishing concrete; operating concrete saws and jackhammers to remove deteriorated concrete; building and setting concrete forms; bending, cutting, and installing reinforcing bars. Other responsibilities include operating heavy equipment; assisting the welders and abrasive blasters; assisting with scaffold erection and any other duties as assigned.Job RequirementsOne to three years of concrete experience.High School Diploma - Awarded for the completion of High School.Key CompetenciesEnsuring that work accomplished is accurate in all relevant aspects.Working with others to share expertise and achieve outcomes that benefit the organization; stepping in to fill necessary roles that others are unable or unwilling to do; demonstrating strong communication skills to others on the team through active listening, summarizing, facilitating and "bridge building"...Demonstrating self-motivation; effective performance is driven from within rather than being conditional on pressure from external factors (e.g. boss, peers, subordinates, deadlines, crises, etc.).Acquiring and demonstrating knowledge of safety and health procedures as they relate to the human resources of the organization and the protection of property.Taking the initiative to consistently meet or exceed (external and internal) customer expectations and specification.STARTING SALARY RANGE$22.54 to $28.74 per hour.
