About This PositionVisitor Services Representatives perform the day-to-day duties of greeting our visitors to Long Pasture and ensuring an overall positive, welcoming, enriching, and safe experience to all of our members, visitors, and guests. This includes providing excellent customer service while greeting and registering visitors in person, providing orientation to the sanctuary, directing visitors throughout the property and trail systems, answering questions about events and programs, monitoring building and grounds, introducing visitors to the many benefits of Mass Audubon membership and processing membership sales, and generally educating guests about Mass Audubon. The Visitor Services Representative has an important and integral role as a welcoming, customer-oriented ambassador of Mass Audubon properties, programs, and mission.Application InstructionsPlease submit a resume and cover letter with your ADP application.ResponsibilitiesGreet and provide information to members, visitors, and guests regarding our sanctuary, the Discovery Center, access to beach, trails, programs, and Mass Audubon in general; staff will greet visitors outdoors at our Welcome Kiosk at the parking area, and indoors in the Discovery CenterUse a cash register and credit card machine for membership sales and collection of admissions feesMonitor parking capacity, and re-direct cars when parking area is fullAssist with monitoring Long Pastures beach area and other high traffic areas, including walking the beach periodically and picking up litter as neededAnswer phone calls and provide information, guidance and directionsUnderstand and promote membership opportunitiesAssist with opening and closing procedures including setting up Welcome Kiosk, monitoring supply of trail maps, membership forms, and other supplies, and end-of-day register sales tallyingWork with property staff to monitor trail conditionsAttend meetings and trainings when requestedAssist in cleaning and sanitationOccasionally assist during peak periods such as holiday weekends or special eventsQualificationsAt Mass Audubon, our highest priority is finding the best candidate for the job. We are looking for applicants with the following qualifications:Must HavesAt least 18 years of ageExcellent people skills and enthusiasm for a team working environmentOffice skills including computer, copier, scanning, and phone systemExperience with varied computer software programs (Office 365, Outlook, Word, Excel).Demonstrated ability to work well with other staff, volunteers, and community representatives as well as independently when necessaryAbility to relate to a diverse range of people and exercise cultural competence and inclusion.Nice to HavesAssociates degree or equivalent experience a plusCustomer service/visitor service experienceInterest in conservation and the natural history of Cape Cod very helpfulCompensation, Benefits and PerksThis positions pay range is $17.96-$20.20/hour; actual salary will reflect level of experience and qualifications relative to position requirements. This is not a benefits eligible position.Work ScheduleThis position starts on June 10, 2025 and ends on September 13, 2025. Hours are 8:45am-3:15pm, 2-4 days per week.
