Primary responsibilities of the Carpenter are to design, build, remodel, retrofit, maintain and repair. The Carpenter works in various types of facilities and structures, interior to exterior, floor to ceiling, vinyl siding to soffits and roofs and everything in between such as cabinets, tables, benches, doors and door closures. Materials include wood, drywall, plaster, concrete, brick, ceramic tile and paint. The ideal EMI Carpenter is an experienced handyman who does it all while following all health and safety standards.Salary $24.55/ hr. plus $9.75/hr. fringe benefits used towards insurance and 401k!See ALL the fantastic benefits you receive as an employee of EMI below!!Key ResponsibilitiesWork independently with MINIMAL SUPERVISIONAssess tasks and determine solutions including cost, time and materialsOperate, maintain, and calibrate hand tools, portable power tools and standard measuring instrumentsRespond to routine and emergency calls for repairs and servicePerform other related duties as assignedEssential Skills Mechanically inclined with the mindset of making alterations and repairsBasic understanding of facia and trim with fabrication skillsWork well in a team to complete tasksAdaptable and flexible in work situationsPrioritize tasks to ensure completion in a timely mannerRequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent3 + years of experience in the carpentry tradesValid driver's licenseValid DL compliant with REAL ID Act or willing and able to obtain onePass a pre-employment drug screeningRegular, dependable attendance OVERTIME- Available evenings & weekendsUS citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installationsPhysical RequirementsMust be able to lift up to 50lbs unassistedUse of hands, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and walkingProlonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stoopingClimbing ladders and entering confined spacesLifting and adjusting heavy objects, contact with sharp, hot and/or very cold supplies and equipmentWork both indoors and outdoors in various temperatures (some extreme) and weather conditionsPhysical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
