Known for a high-performing and collaborative culture, our client offers team members the chance to contribute to innovative projects that make a meaningful environmental impact.Position OverviewAs a result of continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Environmental Compliance Supervisor to join its Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) team. This hybrid position offers a combination of remote work with regular travel to operational and construction sites across California.The ideal candidate is a self-directed leader with deep environmental compliance knowledge, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally across departments. This individual will be instrumental in driving regulatory compliance programs and managing a small but impactful team.Key ResponsibilitiesLead implementation of company-wide environmental compliance programs with a focus on:Air pollution controlHazardous materials and waste managementWater quality and stormwater managementSpill prevention and injured wildlife reportingMaintain complete and organized compliance records and documentation.Serve as the primary liaison with federal, state, and local environmental agencies.Oversee internal environmental training programs and ensure compliance across teams.Manage consultants and ensure permit conditions are met across all active projects.Lead environmental due diligence efforts for project financing.Monitor evolving environmental regulations; identify risks and implement corrective actions as needed.Supervise and mentor a small environmental compliance team; provide training, support, and performance feedback.Participate in annual budget planning and long-term compliance strategy.Plan and lead Incident Command System (ICS) and emergency response trainings, tabletop exercises, and drills.Champion a culture of safety and regulatory compliance across all operations.QualificationsBachelors Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related fieldor equivalent experience.47 years of environmental compliance experience, including at least 23 years in a supervisory role.In-depth knowledge of California environmental regulations and regulatory agency experience (e.g., CUPA, EPA).Required:SPCC compliance knowledgeHazardous materials/waste managementHAZMAT standardsEnvironmental Site AssessmentsPreferred certifications: QSP, HAZWOPER, or similar credentials.Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.Must reside in California, ideally within driving distance of Mojave-area facilities.Work Environment & TravelHybrid role: Remote-based with regular in-person site visits in Riverside, San Bernardino, Kern, Los Angeles, and San Diego Counties.Occasional travel to projects in Texas and New York.Standard business hours; limited overtime expected.Why Join Our Client?Hybrid flexibility with direct impact on sustainability projects.Strong, stable company culture with long-tenured, high-performing employees.Competitive salary and benefits with regular performance evaluations and advancement opportunities.Chance to work on impactful renewable energy initiatives in a growing, forward-thinking environment.
