Job DescriptionJob DescriptionA mature , busy, upscale-casual, chef-driven restaurant in Putnam is seeking a Head Chef. The candidate would be working with the Executive Chef to manage the existing menus as well as the creation and execution of many daily specials. Duties include overseeing the entire kitchen operation, including menu development, food preparation, staff management, inventory control, and ensuring high food quality and safety standards. Other skills needed include leading the kitchen team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment, and ensuring efficient workflow. Other duties include but are not limited to:Inventory Management: Managing inventory, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste.Budget Management: Staying within budget, controlling costs, and optimizing kitchen operations.Food Safety and Hygiene: Ensuring adherence to food safety and hygiene standards, implementing proper food handling and storage practices, and complying with health regulations.Kitchen Organization: Maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment.Maintenance: Ensuring proper maintenance and operation of kitchen equipment.Communication: Maintaining clear and effective communication with the kitchen staff, restaurant personnel and ownership as required.Problem-Solving: Addressing issues and challenges that arise in the kitchen, finding solutions, and maintaining a smooth operation.Minimum Experience: 5 years in the kitchen, 2 years as Head Chef
