Job DescriptionJob DescriptionMinimum 1+ years special education experience required.Job Posting: Special Education Teacher (Onsite)Location: Waterbury, CT AreaDates: ASAP - June 13th, 2025Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - FridayCaseload: High School Students (Self-contained classroom)Position Overview: Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in Waterbury, CT, for the 2024-2025 school year. This is a full-time, onsite position working with high school students with emotional dysregulation and behavior challenges in a self-contained classroom. The caseload will be discussed in the interview, as the district is working on narrowing down numbers. This position is a contract role that offers an excellent benefits package and weekly pay.Responsibilities:Provide specialized instruction to students with emotional and behavioral needs in a self-contained classroom. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students. Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to provide the best educational experience for students. Manage student behavior, create a positive and structured classroom environment, and apply effective behavior intervention strategies. Monitor and track student progress and adjust instructional methods as needed. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and concerns. Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student assessments. Provide a safe and supportive learning environment that encourages academic and social-emotional growth. Requirements:Valid CT Special Education Teaching Certification (K-12). Experience working with high school students, particularly those with emotional dysregulation and behavior challenges. Ability to create and implement effective behavior management strategies. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Passion for working with students with special needs and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Ability to start ASAP and commit through June 13th, 2025.
