Job DescriptionJob DescriptionCarpenter | Methuen Construction Company, Inc.The Carpenter is responsible for prefabrication, assembling and installation of all types of materials and structures on various types of jobsite settings and project types including water/wastewater, federal and renewable. This position reports to the Foreman and is not responsible for the oversight of other teammates. This is a full-time, hourly non-exempt position.Your RolePrefabricate forms for concrete footings, walls, columns, and slabsAssemble prefabricated forming systemsSet screeds, chamfer, and rustication strips in formworkErection and assembly of all wood framing, blocking, nailers, strapping, and carpenters ironInstall finished molding, beads, trim, custom millwork, cabinets, and countersInstall doors and finished hardwareInstall drywall and associated metal framingErect and dismantle scaffolding and staging for all tradesInstall of acoustic tile ceilingsInstall insulation materials including that which is blown, stapled, glued or nailed within above grade walls and slabsErect siding on buildingsInstall wood and vinyl flooring systemsWindow installationExterior fascia, soffits, and trimAcoustical treatmentFRP, PVC and other plastics installationSettings templates, baseplates, and anchor bolts for structural membersInstall casework, toilet partitions, cabinets, and interior signsInstall firestopping materialsErect temporary handrailsSet, place, and align wall castings and sleevesYour Education and ExperienceHigh School or Vocational and or relevant work experienceMinimum of 5 years experience within the construction industryWhat You Bring to the TeamProven ability to excel in a fast-paced environmentStrong team player with a positive attitude Hard working and motivatedWork Environment/Physical DemandsAbility to lift 50 poundsAbility to stand for extended periods of time, and safely maneuver around the nearby presence of various construction equipment and vehicles, on an active construction sitePrepared to regularly encounter moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and a variety of outside weather conditionsAble to climb temporary or permanent stairs, and laddersAble to bend, squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, balance, and stoop, reach on a regular basisSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focusTravel Travel is primarily local, and limited to Northeast jobsite locations, during the business day; with occasional out of state and overnight travel.
