We are the #1 pork producer in the state of Tennessee and top 30 in the United States.Position OverviewPosition Overview The Assistant Sow Farm Manager reports to the Farm Manager. This position will oversee and manage Crutchfield which includes breeding, farrowing, and weaning of pigs. The assistant manager will be responsible to lead and mentor a cohesive team to meet or exceed budgeted volumes of wean pigs. In this role you should expect to:Responsible for the overall safety, quality, performance, and compliance which includes:Performance managementReward and discipline employeesResolve problemsAddress staffing needsPromote safetyTrainingOversee daily care of breeding sows and pigletsProvide proper environment for the animalsProvide proper nutrition for the animalsOversee proper animal health and bio-security protocolsMeets or exceeds production targets and other KPI for farmOversee general maintenance of farm facilitiesOversee recordkeeping of farmBuild strong relationships with senior leadership through effective communication and collaboration to support company goalsDevelop best practices and use strong communication skills to build a strong, cohesive teamChampion a safety cultureAct as the primary information source for the team, maintaining compliance and consistency for daily business requirementsFollow and adhere to all company policies and proceduresOther duties as assignedWhat you'll need to succeed in this role:At least 18 years of ageBachelors degree in Animal Science strongly preferred but not required.
