The right candidate will have a strong background in safety and risk management, regulatory knowledge, and excellent influencing skills. As our Safety Coordinator, you'll be at the forefront of driving safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulations, offering engaging training to our employees and contractors, and championing our Value Safety Program. Don't miss this exciting opportunity to make a real impact!KEY COMPETENCIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESRegulatory KnowledgeInterpret a citation using the Program Policy Manual (PPM) and Program Information Bulletins (PIP) to support sites with recommendations/next course of actionSupport plants with all required record keepingAbility to verify contractors comply with all regulatory, insurance and company requirementsLeverage knowledge of site-specific conditions to influence discussions with MSHA (historical, trends, specific hazards)Safety and Compliance TrainingConduct new miner training and provide sites training resources for safety trainingManage Part 46 Training compliance program.Analyze and use data to identify and create opportunities for new training initiativesProvide safety training for contractors on siteManaging Safety ProgramsLead and proactively promote integration of Values Safety ProgramAbility to influence without formal authority with regional leadershipConduct Root Cause Analyses, present to regional leadership, and implement of Best Management PracticesConduct Near-Miss, Loss Control, and Injury InvestigationsIdentify site inspection data trends and implement site/regional improvementsLead, organize, and follow up on MSHA site safety inspection program.Risk Management KnowledgeExplain Site specific health hazards (NOA, Silica, Noise)Ensure proper recordkeeping sites of IH resultsSupport locations with completion of workers compensation processActive in industry associations (VTCA, NCAA, Etc.)QUALIFICATIONS:Education: High School Diploma or GEDPreferred: Bachelors Degree in a related fieldAdditional Experience:5+ years of safety or industry operations management experienceStrong knowledge of MSHAand OSHA regulations, industry best practices, and risk managementProven track record in managing safety programs and developing trainingAbility to travel on short notice if neededRequired Licenses & Certifications: Valid drivers licenseAlignment with Luck Stone Values:Leadership: Ignites human potential and performanceIntegrity: Earns the trust and respect of othersCommitment: Takes personal responsibility for the success of self, others, and the organizationCreativity: Delivers ideas and innovation that add valueENVIRONMENT OR PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:Ability to work with frequent exposure to dirty and dusty conditions and extremes of weatherLuck Stone is looking for an experienced Safety Coordinator to join our team and help us maintain our strong safety culture.
