Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSalary: DOETeche Action Clinic, A Federally Qualified Health Center, per Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act, is currently seeking qualified applicants for a LPN in Dulac, Louisiana.This is a full-time position. Office hours are Monday - Thursday 7:30am - 5:30pm and Friday 8:00am - 12:00noon.JOB SUMMARY:The Licensed Practical Nurse functions under the supervision and guidance of the nursing supervisor and/or physician. The LPN is responsible for assisting physicians and or/health care providers with daily clinic duties to ensure proper care is given within the scope of practice guidelines. The Pediatric LPN must initiate and participate in child/family education and serves as a facilitator of family-focused care. Promote optimum growth and development for each child. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong customer service skills. Consistent patient-centered disposition is a must for this position. Must be able to work in harmony, exhibits a positive attitude and commitment to our health center mission and vision. Must be able to coordinate work within the department, as well as other departments, including occasional reassignments between regional clinics.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Demonstrates the ability to effectively organize and prioritize work and utilize available resources to assist with efficient patient flow in the clinic.Greets patients and validates patient information via patient interviews and patient screenings while maintaining patient confidentiality.Documents pertinent information such as provider orders, nursing actions, and interventions appropriately in EHR while following TAB guidelines.Provides skilled nursing care as demonstrated by safely and accurately performing technical skills (sterile dressings, EKGs, Vital Signs) and the safe, accurate administration of medications (Oral, IM, and Sub-Q) and immunizationsActively assists with routine clinic tasks. Utilizes established methods to ensure consistency in maintaining emergency supplies, stock medications, immunizations, forms, sterile instrument inventory, equipment, and appropriate exam room inventory per TAC/HRSA requirements.Assists with patient education based on assessment of patient needs and clinic standards of nursing care and documents in patient recordAccurately assesses current status as well as preventive health status and communicates needs to provider.Demonstrate ability to successfully complete validation of skills and cross training competencies.Maintains logs and supplies as directed by the Nursing Supervisor per TAC/HRSA requirements.Maintains professional appearance; follows established dress code.Meets work schedules, fulfills responsibilities and commitments (attendance, punctuality, dependability, initiative, productivity and efficiency.)Utilizes appropriate methods to deal with stressful situations.Understands and supports organizational goalsQUALIFICATIONS:Education/Experience:High School DiplomaCompletion of an Accredited Practical Nursing ProgramCurrent License for LPN in the State of Louisiana 1 year (Preferred)BLS CertificationCommunication Ability:Excellent communication skills at level necessary for understanding and relaying instructions to participants and for accurately documenting informationAbility to deal tactfully with personnel, patients, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general publicMath Ability:Basic math skillsComputer Skills:Basic proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and the InternetAbility to utilize the EHR/PM systemProfessional Skills:Basic knowledge of medical terminologyAbility to utilize EHR systemsEffective time management skillsBenefits Package:Medical, Vision and Dental Health InsuranceAccidental InsuranceCritical Illness InsuranceLong Term Benefits Short Term BenefitsFree Life Insurance401K Plan BenefitsPaid VacationPaid Sick TimeSet ScheduleNational Health Service Corps Site11 paid holidaysFamily-Friendly Work EnvironmentEligible for Student Loan Forgiveness through Federal and State ProgramsEligibility Requirements:All employees must meet eligibility standards in order to be considered for the position applying for. Internal applicants must be with be with the organization for at least one year, with no disciplinary actions on file. If you have not been with the organization for a year, approval from your direct supervisor will be needed.Due to CMS Mandate all applicants must be fully vaccinated prior to onboarding with TAC with the exception of an approved Medical or Religious Exemption.
