Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescriptionAs a Automation & Controls Specialist at Impulse, you will be responsible for the installation and troubleshooting of test equipment related to rocket propulsion testing. This includes electrical wiring, pneumatics, PLCs, and industrial controls hardware.ResponsibilitiesInstall industrial controls hardware to NFPA 70 and NFPA 79 standardsWire and/or modify control panels to UL508A standardsTroubleshoot faulty instrumentation and general electrical systemsMaintain an electrical shop, tools, consumables, and controls hardware inventoryProgram/configure various industrial controls hardware (such as VFDs, motor starters, basic PLCs, electronic circuit breakers, etc.)Review and redline drawings and technical documentation and provide design feedback to engineeringUse of EPlan for generating reports, manufacturing data, etc.Create, maintain, and update assigned tasks for documenting and reporting workMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalency certificate5+ years of work in a relevant field (manufacturing/test/R&D)4+ years working on electrical control systemsElectrical troubleshootingSchematic comprehensionPreferred Skills and Experience5+ years professional experience with EPlan creating and editing schematicsCertifications: NFPA 70E Certification and/or OSHA 10 Certification (or greater)Working on systems up to 480VAC5+ years professional experience working with pneumatic and/or hydraulic systemsAdditional Information:Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
