Job DescriptionJob Description JOB DESCRIPTIONPOSITION TITLE:Transportation CoordinatorPOSITION SUMMARY:The Transportation Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of patients and prescription medications. Responsible for coordinating transportation schedules, communicating with drivers and staff, and ensuring compliance with all transportation regulations. Also responsible for direct supervision of all drivers (Full time, part-time or per-diem) REPORTS TO:Chief Operating OfficerFLSA STATUS:ExemptPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Coordinate transportation schedules for patients and prescription deliveries2. Supervises CHCFC Drivers, to include performance appraisal, schedule and time card monitoring, payroll approval, paid time off approval and call-out management. Also includes oversite of safe driver stats within the vehicle monitoring system and corrective action as needed.3. Communicate with drivers and medical staff to ensure timely and safe transportation4. Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations5. Maintain accurate records of transportation activities6. Troubleshoot transportation issues and provide solutions7. Deliver orders according to assigned directions for each order8. Assist in keeping delivery room in order9. Cover driver shifts as needed10. Provide cross-coverage for additional delivery routes11. Complete all required paperwork, including delivery reports and signatures from recipients of packages12. Operates health center vehicle safely and maintains detailed daily activity log and vehicle log per health center policies and procedures.REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Education: Must be 18 years of age with a valid drivers license and a clean driving record High School Diploma or Equivalent is requiredExperience: 1-3 years experience in a Shipping environment, preferably in a Pharmacy or Medical setting preferred or in transportation coordination or related field preferred Familiarity with transportation software and technologyRequired Skills: Must have access to a smart phone (Transportation Coordination App requires cell phone) Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information appropriately Follow driving safety guidelines including speed limits, lane changes, and use of turn signals Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities Ability to work independently to accomplish goal Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlinesPHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position performs tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues.
