We invite you to join us now, as this is just the beginning.What Youll GetBonus ProgramTraining through John Deere UniversityTool ReimbursementA comprehensive employee benefits plan that includes medical, dental, vision, and 401K MatchReferral BonusEarned PTOEmployee Assistance ProgramPaid Company holidaysCompany Paid Life InsuranceGreat Work/Life BalanceOpportunities for advancementJob Type: Full-timeSchedule: Monday - Friday 1st shift - Saturdays as neededUnited Construction & Forestry is looking for a Field Service Technician responsible for repairing and maintaining electric, diesel and gasoline industrial, construction and forestry equipment generally independently and outside the actual conformities of the shop.What Youll DoReads job order and observes and listens to equipment in operation to determine malfunction and plans work proceduresInstalls fuel injection nozzles and pumps, changes or recharges batteries, and replaces transmissions, hydraulic systems and component partsExamines protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on equipment, and makes adjustmentsLubricates moving parts and drives repaired equipment to verify conformance to specificationsFabricates special lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems, shields, or other devices according to blueprints or schematic drawings.Removes, replaces, and repairs tires, undercarriages, and earth moving and timber harvesting attachmentsEnters a legible description of work performed onto the work ordersMaintains and cares for the shop tools and equipmentEnsure work is performed safely and safe work procedures are followed throughout the departmentReads schematics denoting operating specifications for unit or component and type of evaluation requiredContinues to work on revenue producing work as neededTests unit for conformance with operating requirements such as specified horsepower and lifting performanceHelp ensure that our new and used whole goods are in good working conditionsMaintains assigned service vehicle in areas of cleanliness, daily maintenance and inspectionsComplies with all state laws while operating company vehicleRequirements:What It TakesMust own and maintain their own tools (specialty tools provided by dealership)Basic computer skillsAbility to assemble and perform maintenance functionsAble to work a varying work schedule/shift and be flexible to respond to after-hour callsStrong customer service skillsExcellent oral communication and written skillsStrong organizational skillsPreferredAssociates degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical schoolHeavy Equipment licenseEducation High school diploma or GEDPhysical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by employees to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
