If you're a pro with Fluke Testers and have a knack for splicing, we want you on board!Top Skills Required:High-volume fiber pulling and splicingProficiency with Fluke TestersOther Skills:Cat6 and Cat5 installationCable testing and troubleshootingRack assembly and installationCrimping and punchdownsJob Description:As a Technician II, you'll take on the technical responsibilities of a Fiber Technician.Key Responsibilities:Run and splice fiber (must know color codes)Use OTDRInstall work area outlets for floor, modular furniture, and walls (terminate CAT 3 & CAT 5 jacks, mount face plates, and surface mount boxes).Build and install closets (mount backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic hardware).Perform testing and troubleshooting on horizontal and riser cables.Identify active voice or data circuits.Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time.Adhere to all company, customer, and industry quality and safety standards.Tools You'll Use:Screwdrivers, drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips, pliers, hammer, cable stripper, flashlight, gloves.Punch tool with 110 block and 66 block blade, tone set, 6/8 position combo crimp tool, and Krone/3M/BIX.OTDR, fiber splicerAdditional Skills & Qualifications:Strong expertise in splicing and ribbonized/infused splicing.Experience installing IDF/MDF closets from the ground up.Knowledge of punch downs and color codes.Experience using both ends of a Versiv Fluke tester for fiber and/or copper.Work Environment:Primary site: Data center in Graniteville, SCConditions: Indoor and outdoor, new construction, hot environments, lots of walking, hauling materials, working at heights.Why Join Us?Be part of a new data center build project.Collaborate with a motivated and skilled team.Make a significant impact on project completion.Work on exciting new data center projects with guaranteed hours (40-hour minimum).Opportunities for overtime (volunteer-based, mandatory if no volunteers).TEKsystems is seeking highly motivated and skilled technicians within the telecommunications field to assist our clients in project execution.
