Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Staff Accountant supports the Controller and Accounting Manager in carrying out the responsibilities of the Accounting/Finance Department of a world class manufacturing company. Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements, financial analyses, and other financial reporting Perform general ledger account reconciliations and month end close procedures Assist with treasury management functions Participate in various integration projects with a focus on efficiency, productivity, and internal controls Maintain capital project tracking and assist with fixed assets and depreciation in the FAS software system Maintain compliance with sales and use tax regulations and oversee related tax returns Assist with payroll system and payroll related items Assist with the completion of year-end audit and requested schedules from our external auditors Assist management on special projects and assignments as needed Other duties as assigned.Qualifications Bachelors degree in Accounting 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred Experience in manufacturing preferred Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices Strong computer skills, specifically with Excel and Microsoft Office Strong verbal and written communication skills Attention to detail and accuracy Hands-on approach to problem solving and analysis Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently Timeliness in completing assignments with deadlines and due dates Interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team-oriented environment All team members are expected to follow the Code of Conduct to the highest standards as well as to adhere to the Attendance Policy of VT Industries.Physical RequirementsTolerance for sitting long periods of time. Possess finger dexterity to write, type, and use a calculator. Maintain adequate vision to view small print and computer terminal. Ability to speak and hear, walk throughout facilities with occasional light lifting (25 pounds), stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching with hands and arms required. Ability to travel between multiple facilities as required to perform core job duties.
