If you enjoy working outdoors, have an eye for detail, and take pride in making boats look their best, this is a great opportunity for you!Position OverviewThe Boat Detailer is responsible for thoroughly cleaning, polishing, and maintaining the exterior and interior of boats. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a willingness to work in a marine environment. Key ResponsibilitiesBoat Cleaning & DetailingPerform thorough cleaning of boats, both interior and exterior, including vacuuming, washing, buffing, and waxingBuff and polish surfaces to achieve a high-gloss finishBe able to compound a heavily oxidized boat to a like-new shineOperate buffers, steamers, hoses, vacuums, and other equipment to meet service expectationsWash and rinse boats using hoses, pressure washers, and marine-safe cleaning productsScrub decks, hulls, and other surfaces to remove dirt, algae, and salt buildupApply protective coatings and marine-grade waxes to surfaces as neededEquipment Operation & MaintenanceSafely operate and maintain detailing equipment, including buffers, polishers, vacuums, and steam cleaners.Ensure all tools and cleaning supplies are properly stored and maintainedDrive vehicles safely within the premises for cleaning and detailing purposes Quality Control & Customer SupportInspect boats for imperfections, oxidation, and other surface issues.Identify and address problem areas to ensure boats meet high visual and cleanliness standardsWork with the service team to complete detailing tasks on scheduleCommunicate any boat condition concerns to supervisorFollow all company safety procedures when working around docks and waterRequirementsStrong attention to detail and ability to spot imperfections in surfacesAbility to lift and carry 25+ pounds repeatedlyComfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions year-roundAbility to multitask and work effectively individually and as part of a teamExperience buffing, compounding, and polishing boats or vehicles as requiredFamiliarity with marine detailing products, compounds, and polishes is a plusValid Drivers License is required for moving vehicles and boats within the premisesCompensation & BenefitsHealth Coverage:Medical, Vision & Life Insurance: 75% of employee coverage paid by Seattle YachtsDental Insurance: 50% of employee coverage paid by Seattle YachtsMedical, Vision, and Dental coverage available for dependents at the employees expense401(k) retirement plan Paid Time Off:Sick Leave: Accrues at 1 hour per 40 hours workedVacation Accrual: 1 week the first year, 2 weeks starting the second yearPaid Holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas DayWhy Join Seattle Yachts?Work in a beautiful marine environmentGain hand-on experience in boat maintenance and detailingBe part of a team that values quality workmanship and attention to detailEnjoy a fast-paced, indoor and outdoor work environmentReady to apply?
