Job DescriptionJob DescriptionNOGAPP Residency Program Application for East Georgia Health CenterSUMMARYUnder the general supervision of a staff physician and within the established protocols, the Nurse Practitioner performs assessment and treatment of chronic and acute medical conditions. Tasks delegated to be performed by the Nurse Practitioner will be adequately monitored by the supervising physician, who will take full responsibility for these tasks. As a recognized patient-centered medical home (PCMH), every employee is responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of quality, comprehensive patient-centered care as a member of the patients care team. By performing the job expectations described below you will be an active member of the care team thereby patients are assured access to team-based, coordinated, comprehensive, quality care.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to, the following)Adheres to the established protocols for standards and limits to clinical care deliveryObtains a detailed patient history and records the finding in the patient recordPerforms systematic and thorough physical examinationsOrders, performs or schedules laboratory and specialty diagnostic studiesTelephones prescription orders with the exception of Schedule II drugsPrescribes with DEA number written prescription orders schedule III - VPerforms emergency careProvides patient counseling on health habits, exercise, tobacco, alcohol, etc.Provides supportive counseling as neededProvides patient education on diet, use of physical adjuncts to therapy (nebulizer, vaporizer, etc.), prenatal instructions, child care instructions, etc.Telephone contact with patients for follow-up and triageParticipates in community health promotion and disease prevention projectsRepresents center at various professional and community functionsParticipates in the corporations Quality Assurance programOther duties as may be assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Provides consultation and direction to supportive clinical personnel. The application will reopen for 2025 on October 7th, 2024.Program Start Date:August 1, 2025Program Finish:June 30, 2026Application Checklist:Submit application with supporting documentationPhone InterviewOnsite InterviewProgram Start DateFAQThis is a paid residency program and a full-time employment commitment.At this time, we are unable to cover moving expenses.Malpractice coverage will be provided.Participants in the FNP Residency program are not eligible to apply for NHSC or Nurse Corp Loan Repayment programs during the first year of the program, the formal Residency year. When that year is finished they may apply for those Loan Repayment programs when the application cycle opens up, typically in January of each year.Participants in the NHSC/Nurse Corp Scholarship Program may defer the start of their service obligation until after the Residency year of their contract is finished.
