Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Title: Packaging Maintenance MechanicJob DescriptionThe Packaging Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining equipment associated with manufacturing and packaging activities within the Somerset sites. This position involves keeping equipment in good repair, performing breakdowns, assisting with Capital Improvement Projects, and completing compliance documentation on time (i.e., Work Orders, Equipment repair tickets in SAP, Purchase Requisitions in SAP, Maintenance Schedules, etc.).ResponsibilitiesSupport daily operation of manufacturing and packaging by maintaining equipment associated with these activities.Perform preventive maintenance and keep equipment in a good state of repair.Handle breakdowns and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical/electronics, PLC, and pneumatic issues, and implement corrective actions.Communicate with service vendors and manufacturers for troubleshooting as needed.Assist with changeovers as required.Support and assist in the execution of any Capital Improvement Projects.Design and aid in the fabrication of machine modifications as per business requirements.Respond to emergency calls.Follow all SOPs, cGMP compliance, and safety guidelines.Support quality investigations and implementation of CAPA.Establish and maintain spare parts inventory.Participate in engineering department meetings and implement the companys strategic plan.Support the facility maintenance team as needed.Work at a constant and reasonable pace, neatly and efficiently, and as a team player with other employees.Set an example for teamwork, cooperation, safety, respect, and work ethic for all employees.Essential SkillsMaintenance mechanicsIndustrial machineryTroubleshootingGMP complianceDocumentationExperience with manufacturing equipment (e.g., compressors, granulators, coating machines, capsulizing equipment)PLC troubleshootingProduction and packagingElectrical maintenanceMechanical maintenanceHydraulicsPneumaticsRepair and preventive maintenanceMachine setupAdditional Skills & QualificationsTechnical School/Industrial Certifications or High School diploma preferred3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industryTechnical skillsSolid understanding of cGMP practices and compliance guidelinesAbility to read, comprehend, and follow SOPs written in EnglishGeneral troubleshooting and mechanical, electro/pneumatic troubleshooting skills necessary to diagnose, disassemble, repair, and reassemble equipmentKnowledge of SAP is a plusWhy Work Here?You will join a dynamic and supportive team that values teamwork, cooperation, and respect.
