Apply today!Accepting applications for a Service Technician position at our Pawcatuck location. Our primary repair types are our own used vehicles and maintenance/light repairs for our customer base. We work on a variety of vehicle makes. No nights, no weekends! Applicants must have own tools, clean driving record, and willingness to work as part of a team.ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and similar problems on machinery/equipment and perform timely repairsEstablish appropriate frequency and perform regular preventive maintenance activities on a limited amount of equipment in the facilityPerform timely facility/building maintenance and minor repairs, and maintain a clean and safe work areaDismantle defective machines/equipment and install new or repaired equipmentMaintain accurate records of all inspections, tests, and repairsCoordinate and make recommendations on work-related contracts and servicesSupervise outside contractors when needed for mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenanceParticipate in, support, and comply with all health, safety, quality, and lean initiatives and requirementsQualificationsMust have mechanical and technical aptitude1-3 years experience in an industrial, maintenance environmentGood interpersonal and communication skillsExperience reading and interpreting blueprints and shop drawingsExperience using basic measurement instruments such as tape measure, scales, and gaugesPhysically able to stand, bend, stoop, climb, reach and lift up to 40 lbsAbility to read and write English and perform basic math problemsBasic computer knowledge to complete data entryMust obtain and maintain current certification to operate material handling equipment such as, forklift, side-loader, 4-directional lift, or cherry pickerExcellent customer service skillsBasic computer skillsPositive, friendly attitude, along with a customer service mentalityAbility to collaborate effectivelyAble to operate electronic diagnostic equipmentMinimum high school diploma or GED equivalent requiredValid driver's license and clean driving recordWhat We OfferHealth insurance401(k) plansEmployee eventsFamily-owned and operatedWe are an equal opportunity employer and prohibit discrimination/harassment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
