Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:Our Aviation Services Group is looking for a new teammate who has considerable early career experience in a field inspection and/or construction management position and would like to transition to being an Airport Engineer and Designer. If your experience is heavily weighted in the construction industry and you seek new additional opportunities for civil engineering design in our Aviation Group, we have a great opportunity to help you meet that goal. The job would entail starting out as a part time construction inspector on airport projects, with full time design opportunities during the winter season. The transitional time period is flexible and will allow you to capitalize on your current expertise and strength while building new experience designing airport projects.If you are inspired by this and want to be surrounded by a team that values integrity, honesty, and the autonomy to effect change, then please apply to come join the great team at Hoyle, Tanner & Associates, Inc.Primary duties include:Conduct on-site construction observation of ASD-designed airport projectsComplete FAA required Construction Administration paperworkAttend job meetingsCoordinate with airport staff, local municipal staff, sub-consultants, and with materials testing firmsTravel to and from job site, hotel, and homeSecondary duties include:Civil engineering tasks such as basic airport design, quantity takeoff, cost estimation, schedule creation, plan constructability reviews, project phasing oversight, edit FAA project specifications, field escort of sub consultant field investigation activities, GPS data collection and office downloadOther future secondary duties will be as a Staff Engineer or Project Engineer as resume, experience, and background permitsRequirements:Qualifications:AS or BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management2-4 years of prior experience working in construction on Airports (preferred), roads, bridges, or site developmentOSHA 10-hour certificateIntermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel, Adobe Acrobat, etc.)The preferred candidate will be able to demonstrate strong oral/ written communication and be proficient in public speaking, file management, specification writing and plan analysisHoyle Tanner is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
