Job DescriptionJob DescriptionCITY Laundering Company Route Service Representative Job DescriptionDepartment:ServiceReports to:District ManagerSupervises:NoneJob summaryTo establish, maintain and build strong customer relationships through responsive and effective customer service strategies. To grow existing customer business through quality service strategies. Provide prompt, effective solutions to customer needs. To maximize route revenue through improved time management and upgraded product mix. To maximize contract term by identifying changes in programs that require updated paperwork (re-signing accounts prior to expiration). To be CITY Laundering Cos. face to our customers and potential customers.Duties and essential job functionsIdentify and resolve customer concerns, ensure customer satisfaction with company products and services, develop positive personal relationships with principal customer contacts, maintain enthusiasm and professional attitude. Maximize customer contract term.Manage route to maximize efficiency, productivity and revenue; operate company equipment safely and responsibly, comply with applicable rules and regulations relating to safety and operation of commercial motor vehicles. Maintain clean driving record to insure eligibility for coverage with insurance carrier. Periodically review safety procedures and Company Vehicle Manual to insure compliance at all times.Maintain open communication at all times with your supervisor and the client to keep lines of communication open and for troubleshooting. Maintain and increase account revenue by selling additional products and services, and develop and implement strategies to identify new business opportunities. Increase account revenue - rate increases, sample product; share new business opportunities with the sales department - gather sales leads, copy of competitors invoicing; logo mat artwork.Ensure customer satisfaction;Maximize customer contract term;Maximize account profitability;Manage route efficiency and safety;Positive communication with customers, potential customers and co-workers.Product knowledge; pricing types, colors, sizing, inventory control, availability, product application.Paperwork: garment orders, manuals, invoice accuracy, credits, collections.Product management: loose load sheets, inventories, quality (stains, damage of garments), linen supply.Load truck: organization, invoices, paperwork, bags.Account appearance: organization of rails, hanger racks, repair bags, lockers.Truck maintenance: timely communication of repairs, preventative maintenance, cleanliness, accidents.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.Ability to drive a commercial motor vehicle for at least 10 hours on a daily basis.This position requires regular and reliable attendance.Minimum requirementsClean driving record and valid drivers license required. 3-5 years job related and/or customer service related experience preferredFor physical requirements please see attachment A.Must be 25 years old or older.DisclaimerThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. All personnel may be required to perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities from time to time, as needed.ROUTE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVEPhysical Job Functions:Drive truck to accounts (30-50 stops per day);Unload clean laundry from truck into accounts location (use 2-wheel cart provided whenever possible);Sort, collect and gather soiled uniforms, linens, mats, etc.;Load dirty laundry onto truck;Load truck with clean laundry for the next days route:-Pull cart full of clean laundry to truck;-Unload clean laundry from cart into truck;-Push uniforms from rail system to rail closest to truck;-Load hanging uniforms onto racks inside truck;Critical Physical Demands:Sitting:Frequently, in truck to drive to accounts and up to one hour to complete paperwork. Walking:Continuously, to load and unload truck and go to accounts and to perform other essential job functions. Distance varies. Bending:Continuously, to sort, count, load and unload laundry from the truck and at various stops. UP to 90 degrees flexion. Trunk Rotation: Continuously, to load, unload, sort, retrieve, and carry laundry. Squatting/Crouching:Frequently, to pick up, sort, retrieve and place laundry in bags. Climbing:Frequently, up and down steps in and out of some accounts and in and out of laundry truck. Reaching out/up:Frequently, to load, unload and hang laundry up to arms length and 70 inches from the floor. Grasping/Pinching/Wrist Turning:Continuously, to handle laundry, door handles, mats, hangers, bags, pen and paper, and to drive. Power and precision grasp. Finger Manipulation: Frequently, to write and untie/tie cords on bags. Pushing/Pulling:Frequently, up to 10 pounds of force to open and close truck doors, move clothes along rail system, bring laundry carts to truck. Lifting/Carrying:Continuously, up to 60 pounds to load and unload truck, take items to and from accounts - lifting from floor to 70 inches. Distance varies. Use of Feet:Frequently, to operate brake and gas pedals on truck and walking throughout the day to and from truck to make deliveries and inside accounts to deliver product.
