Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob SummaryThe Laboratory Analyst will provide the plant with timely and accurate quality control and quality assurance test results for products produced at the WI plant. This individual will contribute to safe and environmentally sound plant operations. The Lab Analyst reports to the Laboratory Supervisor at Willow Island, and is primarily responsible for analyzing lot samples of alumina carrier and finished reforming catalyst.Job Duties/Responsibilities Function: Reforming Lot Analysis (50-75%)Work safely in lab environment wearing PPE as required.Perform SPC operations on lab equipment as needed.Provide analysis of alumina carrier per tests specified in analytical plan.Provide analysis of Pt catalyst per tests specified by the analytical plan.Provide troubleshooting and basic maintenance as needed on laboratory equipment.Keep the lab orderly and clean.Recycle / dispose of lot samples as directed.Function: Hydrotreating Technical Support (25-50%)Maintain FedEx Hazardous Goods and Hazwoper certifications.Dispose of spent Hydrotreating Catalyst samplesAnalyze %C, LOI, and metals on refinery samples.Catalog samples as directed by Technical Service.Function: HSSEContribute as an individual to safe and environmentally sound plant operationsRespond to hazards immediately by reducing risks, reporting incidents and participating in determining the root causeSupport Near Miss and Safety Training Programs.Coordination: Maintain communication mechanisms within the group, including periodic meetings, exchanges and presentations. EducationMinimum of a Bachelors degree in a scientific field, chemistry is preferred.
