Our world-leading research helps individuals, organizations, corporations, communities, and nations understand the realities of climate change, recognize the impact on our planet, and embrace the urgent action needed to safeguard the future of life on Earth.Summary:Join Woodwells 2025 Summer Internship Program as an Intern with the Development Operations team. As the Center prepares for a fundraising campaign, you will get a front row view of behind the scenes of how we ramp up for this exciting endeavor. The intern will be trained on technology needed to engage in projects focused on fundraising prospect research, data entry and data clean up. Our interns will be provided challenging assignments, feedback, and opportunities to learn and contribute to our organization's success. Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:Provide data clean-up for our Constant Contact lists and general clean-up of inactive and incomplete data fields in our fundraising database Raiser's Edge (RE)Update prospect records in RE with notes, addresses, and fundraiser assignments. Upload archival documents to respective records.Conduct research on prospects including screening for wealth and connections to Woodwell Board members. Standardize Event naming conventionsNetwork with professionals in field of interest, including mentors, managers and other internsDevelop and enhance skill sets within chosen scientific and/or operational programsParticipate and learn about the Centers scientific interdisciplinary and operational programs such as staff meetings, employee engagement activities.Must have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:Experience or familiarity with a databasesStrong communication (written, verbal and interpersonal)Problem solving and making decisions under pressureWillingness and ability to work independently and as part of a teamOpen to receive guidance from experienced professionals and learn new techniques and toolsKnowledge or willingness to learn Microsoft Office and/or Google WorkplaceExperience working within a nonprofit a plusQualifications:Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program or recent graduateIf hybrid, must have access to reliable internet/wifiPhysical RequirementsIn the office:Ability to tolerate sustained periods of walking, standing, sittingAbility to lift 25 poundsAbility to communicateAbility to kneel, bend, and carry itemsAbility to sit for extended periods of timeFrequent phone use requiredAbility to use computerRepetitive movementsAir, train, vehicle travel to attend meetings/eventWork Environment: The functions of this role are conducted indoorsHours of Work: This role is paid on an hourly, non-exempt, basis. Typically, part-time employees work up to 20 hours during a Monday through Friday workweek.Application review will start on March 26 and be ongoingDesired Start Date: Monday, June 16, 2025 through August 22, 2025 Classification and Compensation: This is a full-time, temporary, hourly, non-exempt position, the salary range is MA minimum wage, determined on state employee works or comes funded by specific program.
