Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition OverviewThe Supply Chain Manager is responsible for all aspects of supply chain management, including purchasing materials and services, material planning, coordinating with production scheduling, and managing inventory turns and value. This role involves negotiating with vendors, developing strategic sourcing partnerships, and aligning suppliers to achieve company goals such as On-Time Delivery, Quality, and Cost.Key ResponsibilitiesNegotiate with vendors for goods and services to secure the best possible price, quality, and service guaranteeEstablish and ensure compliance with Purchasing PoliciesDevelop new supply sources where vendors are inadequateExamine bids and make awardsEstablish account/credit and terms with vendorsNegotiate and monitor blanket purchase ordersWork closely with Receiving Department to ensure proper supplies arriveTroubleshoot inventory quantity discrepancies with manufacturingCoordinate with shipping and receiving for outside servicesMaintain accuracy of Epicor system with current standard prices, lead times, and other relevant dataSupport new customer efforts by obtaining cost-effective quotes and optimal termsWork with Accounting Department to resolve invoice discrepanciesProcess Supplier Performance Reports for on-time delivery and quality standardsTrain and develop Buyer positions to align with company objectivesPerform buying functions within the department along with strategic sourcingProcess Epicor DMRs to ensure inventory accuracy and maintain quality standards for outsourced productsEnsure timely delivery of materials and outsourced servicesTrack and report data and recommendations on inventory levels and turns to the executive teamMaintain thorough understanding of Purchase order flow down requirementsApply knowledge of sheet metal grades and specificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's Degree in a business-related areaFive or more years of experience in supply chain and/or inventory controlExcellent computer skills, particularly with Epicor and Microsoft OfficeStrong understanding of production, office operations, and inventory proceduresProficiency with ERP/MRP systems and associated processesPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Supply Chain Management or related fieldExperience in manufacturing or industrial environmentsProfessional AttributesStrong decision-making skills and ability to work independentlyCreativity and initiative in proposing ideas and finding new ways of doing thingsStrong adherence to safety rules, conduct regulations, and company policiesExcellent teamwork and communication skillsPunctuality, reliability, and conscientiousness in meeting deadlinesAbility to manage and develop team members effectivelyCommand and strong communication skills when communicating with the customerWillingness to take ownership and responsibility (accountability)Physical RequirementsOccasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controlsReach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawlOccasionally lift and/or move up to 25 poundsSpecific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focusWork EnvironmentOffice environment with moderate noise levelsNot exposed to weather conditionsMay require occasional visits to manufacturing or warehouse areasBenefitsHealth & Wellness: Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance with 80% of costs covered by the companySecurity: Long-term and short-term disability insurance, company-paid life insurance, and additional employee life insurance optionsSupplemental Coverage: Critical illness and accident insuranceGrowth Opportunities: Potential for advancement within Skilcraft and across our broader ONI family of companiesCulture of Excellence: Join a team dedicated to organizational excellence, continual employee development, and sustainable manufacturing processes
