Job DescriptionJob DescriptionMed/Surg NA position with opportunity to learn & function in HUC roleSummary:The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for providing direct patient nursing care services under the direct supervision of the Shift Supervisor, RN, or NT/LPN. The CNA organizes the aspects of care which has been delegated to support the RN in efficiently meeting patient needs. The CNA is expected to care for patients in all departments of the hospital (Med-Surg, OB and ED) when needed.Typical Schedule:12-hour night shifts, 6:00 pm to 6:30 am, every third weekend/holiday rotationQualifications:CNA with current Wisconsin Certification or the ability to obtain, required.BLS certification, required.Minimum of 1 year Med/Surg or hospital experience, preferred.Responsibilities include:CNA: Assists the nurse to carry out the nursing process to deliver the highest quality nursing care. As a patient advocate, he/she coordinates the care of the patient through collaboration with the nursing team. The CNA provides daily patient cares, activities, and other tasks as delegated by the nursing staff. He/she monitors and interacts frequently with all patient service departments; utilizes interdisciplinary input to plan, implement and evaluate care. All other duties as assigned within the scope of CNA practice.HUC: The Health Unit Coordinator acts as the central contact person for the nursing units (Med Surg, ED, and OB); performs transcription, clerical, and reception duties. Critical thinking and computer skills required; working knowledge of office equipment including, but not limited to, fax machines, copy machines, printers, and computers.
