Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAcemco Incorporated is seeking a highly skilled Tool Room Repairman to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced stamping environment. This role is critical in ensuring the maintenance, repair, and optimal functioning of Transfer and Progressive Dies, as well as in-press tooling and equipment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to maintain peak production efficiency.Our facility operates Stamping Presses that range from 300 tons to 1,000 tons, requiring a strong understanding of tooling performance and die maintenance in high-tonnage environments.Key Responsibilities:Tool & Die Maintenance and RepairPerform routine and corrective maintenance on Transfer and Progressive Dies, ensuring they meet production requirements.Diagnose and repair die components such as punches, forms, pilots, and strippers.Conduct inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and part replacements to maintain die integrity.Address issues such as misalignment, wear, and breakage to prevent downtime.In-Press Repair & TroubleshootingPerform in-press die repairs and adjustments to minimize downtime during production.Identify and resolve tooling-related defects affecting part quality and dimensional accuracy.Work alongside press operators to ensure Transfer and Progressive Dies function correctly during production runs.Adjust and maintain hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems related to die performance.Tool Modifications & ImprovementsAssist in modifying existing tooling to improve performance and longevity.Work with engineering teams to implement design enhancements for Transfer and Progressive Dies.Recommend improvements based on wear analysis and production feedback.Inventory & DocumentationMaintain accurate records of die usage, repairs, and preventative maintenance.Track tooling inventory and order necessary components for repairs and upgrades.Safety & ComplianceFollow all safety procedures and OSHA regulations when handling Dies, presses, and related machinery.Ensure compliance with Acemco Incorporateds safety policies to maintain a secure work environment.Collaboration & CommunicationWork closely with press operators, engineers, and production supervisors to resolve tooling issues.Assist in training operators on the proper handling and setup of Transfer and Progressive Dies.Provide feedback on tooling performance and recommend process improvements.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent (Technical certification in Tool & Die making preferred).3+ years of experience working with Transfer and Progressive Dies in a manufacturing or stamping environment.Strong understanding of die setting, troubleshooting, and maintenance procedures.Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems in die maintenance.Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.Skilled in using precision measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.Skills & AbilitiesStrong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to precision.Effective communication and teamwork skills.Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime when needed.Physical RequirementsAbility to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Comfortable standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.Ability to work in a noisy, industrial environment.Benefits100% tuition reimbursement package (tuition, fees, books, and more)Competitive salary and benefits package.Blue Care Network, Delta Dental, VSP VisionPaid time off and holidays.401(k) retirement plan with company match.Paid Life InsuranceCareer development and advancement opportunities.And so much more.
