Job DescriptionJob DescriptionGENERAL DESCRIPTIONThis position is responsible for assisting in the development of production shop tickets, shop drawing details and the assembly of drawings for architectural precast concrete systems using Revit (BIM). Additional responsibilities include producing erection drawings, production tickets, and hardware drawings, collaborating with Senior Drafters to detail drawings and assembly for precast architectural concrete products to ensure product is built to specifications; and interacting with Engineers, Sales, Production, and QC to ensure product requirements are met.WHY WORK FOR US?At Wells, we empower our team members to deliver an exceptional client experience. Benefits for union employees are covered under separate collective bargaining agreements which can be obtained through their union business agent or their HR representative.Other benefits include Health and Family Care leave for both union and non-union employees.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESDrafting experience and the ability to illustrate and dimension drawings of assemblies as requiredExperience using Autodesk products including AutoCAD and Revit BIM (previous Revit experience is a plus and desired) Manage software products including but not limited to incorporating updated version releases and customization of the productStay informed on best practices for use of Revit Architecture and BIMStay informed on other BIM related software and how they work with RevitInstallation and support of related BIM softwareProvide technical orientation and internal training to staff on Revit and BIM toolsProvide hardware and network support as it relates to BIM productionTroubleshoot problemsChecking all drawings and shop tickets to verify accuracyWillingness to learn and adapt to Gate standards as needed Willingness and ability to work as a collaboratorProficiency using Microsoft Word, Outlook, and ExcelAbility to read construction plans, be highly detail oriented with good written/verbal skillsExperience in similar concrete related industry desiredEDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREDHigh school education preferredExperience in design, drafting in Architectural Precast ConcreteStrong written and verbal communication skillsIn-depth working knowledge of current BIM versionsAbility to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidanceMust have basic PC experience in Windows environments, working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Web-enabled applications, and database softwarePossess the ability to work well as part of a team and independentlyPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAbility to sit or stand for extended periods of timeManual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for typing, filing, and using office equipmentVisual acuity and ability to read small printHearing acuity and ability to communicate effectively with othersAbility to lift and move office supplies and equipmentMobility and ability to move around the office as neededWORKING CONDITIONSMinimal risk of exposure to unusual elementsMinimal risk of safety precautionsGeneral office environmentThis position profile identifies the key responsibilities and expectations for performance.
