Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Title: Production Group Leader - Night ShiftJob DescriptionResponsible for overseeing plant production, leading team members, and training new employees. The Group Lead will manage the Assembly, Quality, and Extrusion departments, which includes starting, operating, stopping, and cleaning the machines, as well as problem-solving and packaging finished products to ensure they meet the highest quality standards.ResponsibilitiesWork in a manufacturing environment emphasizing teamwork, safety, training, and discipline.Supervise and coordinate daily production.Assist process engineers in troubleshooting.Assist in repairs as needed.Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment.Provide technical assistance to team leaders and operators during start-ups, changeovers, and power failures.Monitor production, winding, and creeling to ensure quality.Promote safety, quality, and teamwork throughout the department.Train existing and new employees on the operation of extruders.Assist in production line tasks.Feed or place items onto equipment for processing.Load and unload items from machines and carts, measure, and pour ingredients.Regulate valves to control the flow of liquids or gas.Collaborate with team to improve standardized processes and methods.Be directly responsible for the performance of the assigned work area.Work on safety, quality, productivity, and cost improvement projects.Complete all required documentation, records, and reports.Understand and follow all company policies and procedures.Proactively and reactively resolve abnormalities in the process.Use key performance indicators for continuous improvement.Work with company management to address concerns, issues, or other matters.Lead or direct team members and attend training as assigned.Essential SkillsFocus on employee relations centered on trust and teamwork.Ability to instruct, supervise, and lead other team members.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Basic math ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and understanding of conceptual math (geometry, charts, graphs).Additional Skills & Qualifications2+ years of manufacturing experience, including supervision.Experience with extrusion manufacturing processes, tooling, quality control methods, and statistical process control (SPC).Injection plastics and urethane process experience is a plus.Previous exposure to a multicultural office environment is a plus.High school diploma or equivalent required.One (1) to two (2) years of manufacturing environment experience or related field preferred.Additional technical certifications are preferred.Why Work Here?Join a team that values safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Standard automotive plant environment with PPE such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, and hearing protection. Personal attire standards may apply. Ability to walk or stand for extensive periods. Use of hands and fingers to handle and feel. Occasionally required to lift up to 60 pounds.
