Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAdecco Staffing is working with a local manufacturing client in Rutland, VT who is looking to fill a Controller position. This is a temp-hire position.Reporting directly to the President, the Controller will play a pivotal role in shaping the accounting, talent acquisition, human resources, risk management and other related processes while ensuring the integrity of the financial reporting systems. It also requires that this individual works well with others on the leadership team to provide analysis and operational metrics related to the driving the company financial success. This individual will oversee two employees who assist in the day-to-day accounting and HR functions.Essential Job Duties Prepare monthly internal financial statements and reports to the directors and corporate office. Plan, direct and coordinate all accounting functions, including payroll, banking and general accounting at the divisional office. Prepare review and approve preparation of work papers supporting the monthly closing process and month end balances. Provide leadership team peers with information vital to decision-making processes. Assist in Acquisitions and Business Development at the local level. Implement policies and procedures created by the corporate office for the divisions and maintain adherence from all personnel. Prepare and review monthly accounting closing process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained. Preparation of annual divisional budget for operating revenues and expenses, capital expenditures, compensation and benefits and other related budgets. Maintain fixed asset records for preparation and fixed assets schedules. Implement, document, and maintain adequate and effective internal controls and processes to improve the closing and reporting cycles. Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Prepare monthly analytical review of the financial statements identifying and explaining major changes. Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual income tax information for the corporate office. Develop and monitor business performance metrics and KPIs. Initiate and manage wire transfers, ACH payments, ACH Positive Pay and other banking functions. Interface with insurance personal on all policy claims, and employee and business related matters. Oversee and manage the payroll and HRIS system, and manage all benefit systems. Oversee and ensure compliance with all payroll tax, property tax, sales tax. Supervise staff who oversee sales invoicing and invoice collection, bill payments, checking and bank reconciliations. Additional responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.Qualifications This position requires a Bachelors Degree in Accounting. At least 7+ years experience managing accountants in the accounting and finance process for the manufacturing industry. At least 3+ years in a position equivalent to a controller Master level Excel skills; Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. Strong accounting skills and experience with A/R, A/P, inventory, accruals and manufacturing cost accounting. Experience with payroll software platforms and QuickBooks is required. Some experience with sophisticated banking functions and cyber security is required. KPI development and reporting experience is required. Budgeting / forecasting, and financial analysis experience is required. Experience with contract reviews including customer and supplier T&Cs is required. Treasury experience including wire transfers and intercompany cash management required. Experience with W-2s, 1099s, 1095s etc. required. Experience within a manufacturing environment is required. Previous experience supervising others is required. Risk management: P&C, workers comp, umbrella, cyber, crime, D&O / EPL experience is a bonus Knowledge and experience with Paycor is a bonus. Previous experience managing Cloud based ERP/MRP software is highly valued. Business development / acquisition / due diligence experience is a bonus. Pay is $35+ depending on experience.
