Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSenior AccountantPrimary Function:The Senior Accountant is a mid-level position within the Qualla Enterprises, LLC organizational structure and is established to aid the organization in its accounting and finance functions. This position is to assist the Finance Manager in accounting and financial analysis functions. These specific functions are more fully explained below in the Job Duties and Responsibilities section. Reports to: Finance Manager Supervises: none Pay Grade/FLSA Status: S9/Exempt Qualifications: Bachelors degree in accounting required 2 years of experience in organizational accounting required, experience within manufacturing organizations preferred Experience with accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, and financial statement reporting preferred High school diploma or equivalent Must be 21 years of age or older Must possess a valid drivers license Duties/Responsibilities: Utilizing existing systems to account for daily financial transactions Following standard accounting policies and procedures Maintaining subledger accounts and verifying general ledger accounts Maintaining historical records by filing paper and electronic documents Providing monthly financial reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information and trends Ensuring full compliance with state, and local sales and excise tax reporting requirements Contributing to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed Assisting with other accounting tasks as needed Maintains a neat and orderly work area Adherence to any state and local tax or related laws Responsible for the oversight and management of weekly physical cash reconciliation from cashier cage, verifying amounts, vendor payments (SOPs, tracking), AP/AR, fixed asset schedule. Responsible for performing month-end procedures and assisting the Finance Manager in preparation of the month-end closing packet Other duties as assigned by management Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment Knowledge of policies, procedures, guidelines, and best practices in accounting Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles Proficient with basic office equipment, including but not limited to computers, calculators, and copiers/printers Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Must be able to read, research, produce, and interpret reports and data Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 pounds Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, kneel, twist, and graspThe above list is not an exhaustive list of all job duties, requirements, and physical demands.
